Magnetic

Isabelle Demian

Hi, I'm Isabelle! I'm an undergraduate senior at the UW studying English and Creative Writing. For this year's zine, I really wanted to represent the theme of "collisions" in both the form and the content of my piece, which is how I landed on doing a blackout poem. Blackout poems, or erasure poems, are created by erasing words from an existing text until you are left with a found poem. My poem, "Magnetic," is constructed from a page from Angela Carter's novel "Love."
