Purple. John Akomfrah (2017, Video Installation)

        John Akomfrah’s series Purple (2017, video installation) consists of these massive video screens that show the climate crisis using footage from all over the world.  His piece in the series Purple of the man sitting on a bucket with tires all around him symbolizes the exploitation of nature at the hands of humanity.  Sharing this via a large video installation is confronting to the viewer and shows the problem, rather than telling.
