“Silent Majority”, by Keyakizaka46 (2017)

audio with English subtitles

translations (sung in Japanese)

At the overflowing intersection

Where do all those people go? (Pushed by the flow)

Wearing similar clothes

With similar expressions…

As if hoping to get lost in the flock

They walk (without doubt)

Just what makes them so hesitant

To be different from someone else?

The people ahead turn around and say

“Don’t break the line”

They preach of rules, but

Their eyes are dead

You have the freedom to live as you are

Don’t be controlled by the adults

If from the start, yes, we’ve already given up

Then what’s the point of us being born?

Dreaming will sometimes make you lonely

As you progress down an empty road

This world won’t begin by behaving like a flock

Is “Yes” really ok?

Silent Majority

The president of some country

Said this (a miscontruction)

“Those who don’t raise their voices

Are in favor of me…”

It’s important to be able to choose

Don’t rely on others

If you don’t take action

You can’t deliver that “No”

Just do the things you want to do

Don’t degrade yourself to become “one of them”

There are as many roads as there are people here

So just walk towards your own dream

Those boring adults, locked down by chains

Of vanity and pride, leave them

Come, the future exists for you

Just say “No!”

Silent Majority

If you follow

Behind someone

You won’t get hurt, but

Your flock

Will be summarized

As consensus

You have the freedom to live as you are

Don’t be controlled by the adults

If from the start, yes, we’ve already given up

Then what’s the point of us being born?

Dreaming will sometimes make you lonely

As you progress down an empty road

This world won’t begin by behaving like a flock

Is “Yes” really ok?
