This piece is part of a photograph series portraying the marks that colonialism has left on the Brazilian city of Manaus. The photographs depict nature as a personification of the Brazilian people reclaiming the land that has been stripped away from them. In this piece, leaves and roots climb a wall, representing colonial violence being overtaken by life.
