Full description
This installation piece highlights the enduring effects of colonialism on the artist’s country of birth, the Democratic Republic of Congo. Native plants grow out of World War copper shell cartridges, representing the tragic impact of the World Wars on Africa, as well as the stripping of Congo of its natural resources for the benefit of the Western world.
