Katsushika Hokusai 1878 23.2 × 15.2 × 1 cm Woodblock printed books; ink and color on paper

Full description

The final volume of Hokusai's Manga is widely debated whether or not it should be included in the Hokusai Manga series because most of the work depicted is from his students. This was published after the death of Hokusai, and it is unknown of it was published just for monetary purposes or to fulfill the wish of a full 15 volume set. This volume is similar to other Hokusai Manga volumes with the use of pink and grey colors. The images themselves ranged from two per page to one image per two pages. This volume is a little more diverse in subjects than some of the other later volumes. They range from plants, to animals, to daily life, and deities. Volume 15 has a wider range because as the final volume in the collection it needed to come back full circle to where it all began.
