Full description

Rejected Geisha from Passions Cooled by Springtime Snow is an in depth feature of a courtesan that is in an attempt to woo her customers. The facial expression of this geisha represents their character as a working female in the Yoshiwara. Geishas were another community of women that had to work to let the people pay for the housing and their families back home.Overall this is a message of working and a change of character to do whatever is necessary for their compensation. This Geisha in particular has been working for a while and due to her pinkie she is professing her love to someone. You can see in her facial expression that she is older, and not in her prime anymore which is why she is being rejected.
