Flower Kosode

The piece of clothing is from a Kosode made from silk with flower embroidery on it, due to the kosode being made of silk it was most likely very expensive piece of clothing, because of the material that it is made from it was most likely worn by someone of a higher class as silk during this time period was more seen as a highly valuable material. Even the embroidery creating the design of the flowers was also highly expansive. Garments like these would usually be made to order or the design would be made on an already existing Kosode but would depend on someone's social states as people during this time were only allowed to dress a certain way or in a way that would reflect their social status.
