Full description
The Kosode here is made from a silk satin and the design was made from a very specific dyeing technique known as Kanoko Shibori which means (to squeeze). the process is similar to how we would tie dye a shirt, the process begins with twisting and compressing the garment into s specific shape and tied then it would be dyed creating a pattern. Kosode's with patterns similar to this one would be very expensive as the technique was very time consuming, so garments like these would be very essential to the higher class such as the wealthy merchants, it's also said that Kosodes being covered with this type of pattern was a very luxurious.
