Go for the Green: Fostering Student Financial Health

College is expensive, and that expense can cause financial stress, a significant factor affecting students' academic performance, retention, and overall well-being. Recognizing this, Michigan State University (MSU) Libraries partnered with Go for the Green, a campus initiative dedicated to equipping students – particularly first generation, transfer, and underrepresented - with financial literacy skills. This collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid and the MSU Federal Credit Union resulted in an engaging resource fair and escape room which increased students’ knowledge and decreased stress. The presentation will explore program development, its impact, and how libraries can adopt similar strategies for student success.
