Caring for the Mind, Body, and Spirit: Cura Personalis in Student Employment Practices
Full description
This presentation will show how the idea of Cura Personalis (Latin for “care for the whole person”) shapes student employee training, work, and team building practices implemented by the Circulation Services Department at the Hesburgh Libraries. I will outline three areas of care we focus on: mind, body, and spirit, and explain what practices we have adopted to support student wellbeing. Our goal in adopting this holistic approach is to not only lessen student employees’ overall stress when they are at work, but also demonstrate our support and care for their wellness both in and out of the library workspace.
