Zeus, a prominent deity in Greek religion, had multiple revered sanctuaries dedicated to him, including the oracle at Dodona and the temple at Olympia where the Olympic Games were held. He was worshipped throughout Greece and revered in family homes, representing protection, hospitality, and the guardian of cities.Greek pottery and coins feature Zeus and his various mythological transformations. Zeus is also often depicted in Greek art as a bearded figure carrying a lightning bolt or sceptre, associated with bulls, oak trees, and eagles. Here we present a notable representations of Zeus. The Artemesium Bronze is an ancient Greek statue from around 460 BC, depicting Zeus with a thunderbolt missing. It stands over two meters tall and showcases the style of Greek sculpture, with the head being a particularly significant component due to its expression and details.
