Mask of Agamemnon

A Mycenaean gold funerary mask rumored to have an imprint of Agamemnon a king of Mycenae, husband of Clytemnestra and father of Iphigenia. This mask is later dated to 1550-1500 BCE, bringing the authenticity of the imprint actually being Agamemnon into question. The mask was found by Heinrich Schliemann at grace circle A in Mycenae, and is part of a collection of seven golden funeral masks. The mask was most likely constructed using a leaf of gold which was then hammered into the shape of the deceased.
