Statues of each of the 9 Muses.
Full description
Statues of each of the 9 Muses line the edge of the colonnade of the Palace's terrace. The Palace was built by the Empress of Austria, Elisabeth, in 1890 as a retreat on the island of Corfu, Greece. The statues are thought to have been completed by neoclassical sculptors Canova and Thorvaldsen and their pupils.
