This painting is as made by John Singer from 1921 and it depicts Apollo the god of the sun, light, poetry and music along with the nine Muses. The muses are Calliope muse of epic poetry, Clio the muse of history, Erato the muse of love and lyrical poetry, Euterpe the muse of music and lyrical poetry, Melpomene muse of tragedy, Polyhymnia muse of sacred poetry/ eloquence, Terpsichore muse of dance and choral singing, Thalia muse of comedy, and last Urania muse of astronomy.
