Resource added
The nine figures in the painting have been studied over the years and identified as representing mythological figures, the main figure being Venus, Goddess of Love. The setting is an orange-grove, oranges being a symbol of the Medici family in Florence.
Primavera is by painter Sandro Botticelli and was made in the late 1470s or early 1480s. It hangs in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. The painting depicts Venus and her son Cupid who aims his bow and arrow toward the three Graces. To the left is the God Mercury(Hermes), and on the right, the God Zephyr reaches for the nymph Chloris, who in mythology transforms into the goddess Flora who is depicted left of the pair.
