Full description

Metamorphoses is a play that depicts several Greek myths, uniquely all taking place around and inside a large pool of water. The first scene (not including the prologue) shows the story of King Midas and his gift that becomes a curse from Dionysus. In this depiction, Dionysus is characterized as being a benevolent and grateful god while still showing concern for Midas’s choice in reward for rescuing one of Dionysus’s followers. This playbill is from a production that happened in 2002 in New York. The original premiere of the play Metamorphoses was in 1996.
