Full description
In the song "Icarus" published in 2011, Bastille reinterprets the myth into a modern day pop song. In the song, the band alludes to Icarus and his infamous fall. However, they use the allusion to Icarus as a metaphor for alcoholism. This metaphor compares the unhealthy choices of alcoholism to that of Icarus's bad choice to fly too close to the sun.
