This oil painting by artist Rupert Bunny illustrates Poseidon and his wife, Amphitrite, as they travel through the seas. Poseidon travels on his mythical seahorse, carrying his well-known trident, while Amphitrite rides on her signature clam shell, carried by mermen. The painting is composed of mostly a green, blue, and orange color scheme which reflects colors seen in the ocean.
