Full description

"Perseus with the Head of Medusa" is a bronze sculpture created by Italian sculptor Benvenuto Cellini sometime in the years between 1545-1554. The statue quite literally depicts the Greek mythological hero, Perseus, holding the snake-haired head of the Gorgon Medusa after slaying her. The sculpture stands in the Loggia dei Lanzi in the Piazza della Signoria in Florence, Italy.
