Abstract:

For anyone who is a part of the U.S. Armed Forces they know how difficult this unique lifestyle can be, whether they are the service member or the child of one. Many of the issues that military families face on a daily basis are spousal unemployment, lack of child care, constant relocation, deployments, education and behavioral development, and others. Despite the fact that there are many government sponsored resources and nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving these families, not many of them are user friendly and it is time consuming to search them. The purpose of this resource document is to compile specific resources in one location for parents to refer to if their child or children are experiencing difficulties with moving (relocation), deployments, and if they have lost a loved one. It will also include specific resources to the Naval Base Kitsap in Bremerton, WA with the intention to serve the families who live there so they can utilize the resources in their own community.
