Abstract:
Are you aware of the role that museum stores play in museums? As the revenue of museum stores gradually impacts the museums’ total revenue, museums are realizing the importance of museum stores and are exploring the potential influence of museum stores. This project aims to help the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) become aware and understand the potential capabilities of its store. The purpose of this project is to help BIMA conduct a critical analysis of its store’s potential by combining literature and research into field-wide practices with an examination of its current impact and reach. The project provides BIMA with a White Paper detailing nine practical recommendations that could be implemented in the future.
