When people think of the University of Washington, they first think of the big “W”logo. The "W" logo has been a symbol of the University of Washington since the early 20th century. It is something that not only athletes wear proudly but students as well knowing that they are a part of a prestigious historic traditional school. The "W" represents a sense of pride and unity among students, alumni, and fans of the University of Washington football team. It symbolizes the collective spirit of supporting the team through victories and defeats.
The Washington Huskies won their first and only national championship in football in 1984 under head coach Don James. The team went undefeated that season with a record of 11-0-1.
