Building a self-care lending library: a holistic approach to student health and wellness in an academic library

Resource added

Full description

After receiving an in house grant of $2000 in 2019, two MSU librarians purchased 6 noise canceling headphones and 6 light therapy lamps for circulation for all users as part of a new lending library for self care. Delayed due to Covid, the library was successfully launched in 2022. This poster will describe the process for choosing which items to include in the library, the logistics of circulating non-traditional items, promotion of the collection to various student wellness outlets, and ideas for adding to this collection. Pictures and usage statistics will be shared as well as anecdotal notes from students and MSU community members about the collection.
