Creating Multifaith Campus Spaces for Prayer, Meditation, and Wellness

Full description
For many students, access to semi-private spaces for prayer, meditation, and reflection improves their campus experience. These spaces can be especially impactful for students whose faith involves prayer at specific times throughout the day. This presentation will share best practices for designing and maintaining campus multifaith spaces. I will describe the benefits of these spaces to students of all backgrounds, including neurodiverse students, who benefit from a dedicated calm environment to attend to spiritual and emotional needs. I will then discuss how campus library space can be leveraged to create inclusive multifaith spaces that are responsive to students’ requests.
