Scene of Margaret of Antioch praying beside a dragon. Roses, daisies, forget-me-nots, and thistles decorate the border. Daisies have a strong association with St Margaret the dragon slayer and are the emblems of powerful women. Thistles have associations with martyrdom and Christ, and forget-me-nots or speedwells signify remembrance. Drawing upon this the roses in the image are likely representing spiritual love and perhaps the Virgin Mary.
