Why Are Transcripts a Key Concept for Accessibility?
Transcripts are useful to users who are Deaf or hard of hearing, and they are also helpful for people who are Blind or low-vision and who use screen readers like VoiceOver, NVDA, or JAWS.
People who are learning languages could benefit from transcripts as well as people who are in noisy locations or in situations in which they don’t have headphones or earbuds.
How Do I Include Transcripts in a Manifold Project?
In Manifold, if you are bringing in media like video and audio, then you want to make sure that you transcribe that media and include a transcription in your project.
To transcribe media, there are a couple approaches you can take.
One is that you can do so yourself with a tool like oTranscribe. With oTranscribe, you can upload a media file into it, and then it helps you in playing back media for easy transcription by hand.
Another approach is that you could use a tool like Otter.ai, YouTube, or Microsoft Steam to get a transcript generated by machine learning.

Once you have your transcript, you could include it as a Text in your Manifold project. Or, with any Resource in Manifold, you could include a link to the transcript in the Description field.
